This Sabbath (Mar 31) at Richardson- “Deceiving and Being Deceived”

How good are Americans at telling the truth? In 1991 a book was published titled The Day America told the Truth by authors James Patterson and Peter Kim. If the information in the book is accurate (but perhaps Americans lie about lying!) then…

  • 91% of Americans lie routinely
  • 36% confess to dark, important lies
  • 86% lie regularly to their parents
  • 75% lie to friends
  • 73% lie to siblings
  • 69% to spouses
  • 81% lie about feelings
  • 43% concerning income
  • 40% about sex

Evidently there was an epidemic of deception in America two decades ago, and most people recognize that it probably isn’t any better today.

The Bible makes it clear that in the last days there will be increasing deception. People will be deceiving others and will be deceived themselves.

Invite a friend and join us this Sabbath (March 31 at 9am and 11:30am) at Richardson Seventh-day Adventist Church as we study 2 Timothy 3 to learn how to avoid deception in ourselves and others. This is the next message in our series about Truth.
