Walk to White Rock Lake

Walk from Richardson to White Rock Lake

On Sunday, September 22, 2013 this brave group of Richardson Seventh-day Adventist members and friends walked 10.4 miles from our church to White Rock Lake, completing the walk in about 3 hours and 40 minutes!

The total mileage that was walked was 253.15 miles and 257.75 if you count Rocky one of our member’s cute puppy. In addition to the walk from Richardson to the Lake, several people gathered together at White Rock Lake and walked 5 miles! All together over 300 miles were walked! Praise the Lord for the beautiful gift of exercise!

The walk was part of Let’s Move Day activities and brought attention to our church’s efforts to someday establish a permanent Adventist church in the Dallas White Rock Lake area. In 2012 as part of the Let’s Move Day initiative Richardson members walked from the Richardson Seventh-day Adventist Church to the McKinney English Seventh-day Adventist Church which was being established. Thirty Richardson members have transferred to McKinney to strengthen the Adventist work in that fast-growing community.
