This Sabbath at Richardson (May 31)- “Love the Lord” Part 1

We love God because He first loved us (1 John 4:19). We can learn to fall in love with Him more deeply by looking at and reflecting on His creation, His Word and Jesus, God the Son.

“The sunshine and the rain, that gladden and refresh the earth, the hills and seas and plains, all speak to us of the Creator’s love… “God is love” is written upon every opening bud, upon every spire of springing grass. The lovely birds making the air vocal with their happy songs, the delicately tinted flowers in their perfection perfuming the air, the lofty trees of the forest with their rich foliage of living green — all testify to the tender, fatherly care of our God and to His desire to make His children happy.” Steps to Christ, p. 9-10.

This Sabbath we begin a two month study of the Great Commandment, to love the Lord will all of our heart and to love our neighbor as ourself (Matthew 22:37-40).

Join us this Sabbath at Richardson (9am & 11:30am) as we look at how to grow in our love for God, who loves us so much. Feel free to bring a friend. This is the first message in our series “His Commandments = Your Lifestyle.”

Here are more tools for our journey of discovering the love God has for us that is the source of all love we have for Him and others–

The Great Commandment

“Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”   Matthew 22:37-40
