This Sabbath at Richardson (September 27)-Isaac & Rebekah (Love Stories of the Bible)

If you are single, how do you find the right husband or wife? If your friend asks you for advice in finding the right person to marry what should you tell them? Does there need to be a certain type of “chemistry” for the relationship to work?

During the months of September and October 2014 we are studying some of the love stories of the Bible and learning lessons for our own relationships.

Join us this Sabbath at Richardson (9am & 11:30am) as we look at the love story of Isaac & Rebekah, and learn secrets for finding the right spouse or helping our friends find the right one. Whether single of married, you will love this message. Feel free to invite friends.

Here are more tools to help us distinguish between the joy of true love and pain of unhealthy lust. Continue reading

This Sabbath at Richardson (September 20)- Adam & Eve (Love Stories of the Bible)

Screen Shot 2014-09-18 at 9.49.42 AMLove stories have a way of capturing our attention. We want to see how other relationships develop so we can learn how to enhance our own.

The Bible, just like the everyday life, is full of both love stories (e.g. Adam & Eve, Isaac & Rebekah, Solomon & his 1st wife, etc.) and lust stories (e.g. Esau & his 2 wives, Samson & his women, Herod & Herodias, etc.).

During the months of September and October 2014 we will be studying some of the love stories of the Bible and learning lessons for our own relationships. We will learn from the joy of healthy love and the pain of unhealthy love as we take this two-month study and Bible Bookmark adventure!

Join us this Sabbath at Richardson (9am & 11:30am) as we look at the love story of Adam & Eve, the first couple, and see the pattern for a happy marriage designed by God. Feel free to invite friends.

Here are more tools to help us distinguish between the joy of true love and pain of unhealthy lust. Continue reading

Beautiful music, yummy food, a water park, and a great featured speaker, Carla Gober, were all part of the blessing! About 200-300 ladies came together to praise God for His goodness. Don’t miss out on the next one! It was truly a refreshing time! Continue reading

Stewardship – Returning Tithes and Offerings

malachi_3-10The new church fiscal year has begun. At the beginning of a new calendar year we tend to make new year commitments to pray more, read our Bibles more, give more to the church, lose weight, exercise more, buy less, and the list goes on and on. We have every intention to do these things, but as the weeks go by, we find ourselves slipping back into the same old patterns and routines.

You may be asking yourself, what does this have to do with stewardship? After all it was my choice and my decision so if I don’t follow through what difference does it make? While some things may not matter, others do. In Malachi 3:10 God commands us to return tithes and offerings. He clearly states that by not doing so we are robbing God. While there is a stipulated amount of 10% for tithe, there is no set amount for offerings. We are to return offerings to manifest our gratitude and love for God. Continue reading

This Sabbath at Richardson (August 23)- Great Advice from Proverbs, Part 3

The tower of Pisa has been leaning so long — nearly 840 years — that it’s natural to assume it will defy gravity forever. But the famous structure has been in danger of collapsing almost since its first brick was laid.

Why? Because the builders built on unstable soil of mud, sand and clay, and made the foundation only ten feet deep! As later builders added stories to the top they tried to compensate by making one side of the story taller than the other, rather than dealing with the foundation!

Finally from 1990 to 2001 a major engineering project was able to correct the situation, making the Tower of Pisa more stable than it has ever been!

For us to grow as believers we need to deal with any challenges to our spiritual foundation. Proverbs 23 highlights three major challenges that can cause us to collapse spiritually if they are not addressed and corrected.

Join us this Sabbath at Richardson (9am & 11:30am) as we find solutions to these challenges in a study of Proverbs 23 in our series “Great Advice from Proverbs.” Feel free to bring a friend.

Here are more tools to help us distinguish between a good & Godly decision and one that looks good but will lead to pain. Continue reading

This Sabbath at Richardson (August 9)- Great Advice from Proverbs, Part 2

As children we like to test boundaries. We step out of line, we push the limits, we are often asking “why”?

As we mature we learn to embrace some boundaries. We realize that guard rails on mountain roads are there to protect us, not to limit our freedom. We realize that although we can stay up late every night or eat junk food endlessly there is a price to pay if we do. Continue reading
